ALABAMA’S THIRD ANNUAL BLUE STAR SALUTE

To all of America’s Military Service Personnel and a special Gold Star Salute to Alabama’s “Fallen Heroes” since 9-11-01, co-hosted by The American Village, American Legion of Alabama, Gold Star Wives and Mothers and the Alabama
Society Sons of the American Revolution

The co-hosting organizations were joined by Shelby County, State and National officials and guests; Alabama Board of Veteran Affairs; Disabled American Veterans; Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 668; Buffalo Soldiers;Combat Infantry Association; Military Officers Assoc of America; The Marine Corps League; The Eighth Air Force Veterans Assoc; “Rosie-The-Riveter” Assoc of WW-II; Korean War Veterans; Daughters of the American Revolution; Vietnam Veterans of America, and other veteran, patriotic and heraldry organizations in this concerted effort of paying honor and respect to our Nation’s “Defenders of Freedom”

Static Displays of vintage and modern military equipment and vehicles, Historic
WW-II “Rosie-The-Riveter” orientation and displays 151st Army Band in concert
with additional musical entertainment groups. An “operating” U.S.O.-inspired refreshment “Canteen” with 1940’s-era music, Patrick Henry’s “Give Me Liberty –
Or Give Me Death” Recitation. Food and refreshment vendors on location throughout the day. Military flyover

ALABAMA’S THIRD ANNUAL BLUE STAR SALUTEFamilies and Friends of our “Fallen Heroes” will conduct a somber Gold Star Salute and present “Red Rose” remembrances in the Colonial Chapel near the end of the Salute Program
